Last Day Of 2008

A year has passed and school will start next week. Hope to achieve more in the year of 2009. Volleyball has been eliminated from the IHG with only softball as the only sport remaining for me. Wish to get into the Semis. It surprised me when i heard stories of some halls trying to match fix to get the better group. They purposely lost the game and got draw with a weaker team. Aiyo, this is only Inter-Hall, not a national competition, why cheat?

Softball

Got hit by a softball again. The last time, it hit my knee and i cannot bend my legs fully and even before the injury recovers, i got hit again. This time in the face haha. Only i got hit by the ball so many times haha. Strange.

Netball

Just finished watching Inter-Hall Netball, hall 6 VS hall 9 or 10... Haha, it was really one way traffic and the opponent did not even got a chance to shoot for goal. This is how wide the differences are. It was the second match they got a clean sheet. Clean sheet for netball? Haha, hope the opponents will not stop playing netball because of this... Haha...

Sick

I am sick for the past few days and it's really getting a little bored staying at home all day. Think i am sick so long because i lack of vitamin C so went out today to get some oranges. Haha, looking at the oranges, i clearly can see that some are out of shape, obviously, someone press it so hard that the orange have a dent. Anyway, i chose 5 of the most orange oranges, they should be the better ones i think.

Long Time No See

Saw my volleyball coach last Wednesday. Didn't expect him to be coaching in Ntu. Luckily, he still remembered me haha... Glad to hear from him that some of my team mates are still playing volleyball consistently. More trainings coming up and I'm quite tired after 1 week of training...

Training

Went for Vball training yesterday, it was the first time i feel that i shouldn't go for the training. Quite sian. Haha, better stop complaining haha... Time to upload some photos.

Alike?

Many people say my brother and me look alike but i don't think so maybe it's because i seen him for 21 years already. However, while going through the photo yesterday, i realised we really look alike when we were young. Looking at a photo, i asked my Mum, who is the child in the photo?(thinking that the answer will be me). Then, the unexpected happen... "It's your brother"she answered. Huh? Not me!!! Eh... How come? i asked myself. I looked at the photo again and asked my mum again. Haha, her answer is still the same. Okay, we look alike but only when we were young. Haha...

Traffic Light

Okay, it has been a year since i got my driving license and finally, no more 'P' plate. Haha, i did not even bought one in the first place. Anyway, i think it's time to educate some teens, the rules of traffic light.

Okay, very easy one, green man you can cross and red man you stop... Easy? Haha, i saw some teens crossing road without looking at the traffic light last week and they really don't know what is danger sia. Just cross even when the green arrow is up for the cars to turn. Guess what,the cars are already turning when they tried to walk pass. They saw it but chose to ignore it. Brave? No! Stupid? Definitely. Then, the cars have to stop for them...

Anyway, only 2 out of 5 of them run across and the rest have a sense of danger and stop there. Ya, they are standing in the middle of the lane. Waiting for chance to walk across. But can someone pls tell them that when the green arrow ends, it means green light will show for the adjacent traffic to move. They are still standing in the middle of the first lane!

Seeing the traffic coming towards them, they started running to centre of the road where there are the green railings and they sat there waiting for chance again. They must think it is cool but i think they are really dumb. Haha. Okay, everything will be okay if they just sit and wait for the green man. But they tried to run across again. This time, 1 almost got knock down. Luckily for him, the car stopped or else...

Exam this Thursday!

1 Year

On this day a year ago, i took back my pink IC and bid goodbye to NS. Did i spend my time wisely for the past 1 year? I don't know... I think i should try out more with the limited time that i have and hopefully by the next year, i can say that i had a fruitful year. 7 more days to exam!

Exam Around The Corner

It was kind of stress when u see many people going to the reading room and library to study. Haha, more stress when they said they will study till 2 am. Hardworking? Yes, they are and i am also trying to make use of all the time i have before exam. Suffer first, enjoy later haha...
Was surprised to see the price of waffler back to the original price again. It dropped 10 cents for 2 weeks and went back to the original price... Haha, why drop it in the first place if it only last for 2 weeks? Great Canteen Sales? Maybe...

2 Weeks Ago

Just received the photos for the bday celebration. Don't like to ask people for photos but i want the photos... Haha, how? Anyway, 2 weeks ago in hall, a dinner was organised to celebrate 3 people's bday.

After singing the bday song, the canteen uncle came and gave us desert for free. Haha, steady lah...

Just ended a test today, still have assignment and another test tomorrow. Don't know why they still give us assignment... Time can be better used for preparing the final exam in my opinion. Lastly, looking at the photos again, i really think the camera is good haha... Hope to take more photos...

What's Happening?

Agreed to tutor my friend on Saturday but he called on Friday night and said he wanted to relax for Saturday so, he wanted to pushed it to Sunday. Feeling sian, i claimed i have something on in the afternoon but after several questioning, i agreed. Sunday morning, he called again, saying he just returned home so need to push it to a later time. After negotiating, he told me he will call back to confirm. He did call back to cancel it and i was happy cos it was raining heavily outside.

Yesterday, he wanted to ask me question on msn and i said ok. But this time, he send me his lecture notes and asked if i understand... Haha... Then, he asked me to tutor him on Saturday again. Thinking that i must at least tutor him once so, i agreed... Then, the best part, he told me to bring my laptop along cos he did not print his notes... Haha...

Why so troublesome one? Giving free tuition still must accommodate his time and help him bring things. Aiyo, time changed liao, don't know what is happening...

Pasamalam

It's been a long time since i last saw a Pasamalam(Night Market) near my house. Maybe, because of that the crowd seems more than usual. Still have to squeeze around and queue for food. Haha, everyone coming out to take a walk. Food also taste better than before. I'm going back to buy more food tomorrow... Sian, don't feel like studying but i have to...

BIS 2008

Yesterday was BIS 2008, which is an event to close the Inter-Block Games. Sian, quite little people and they still want us to play games. Haha, hearing that, i went back to my room and came out only the block skit started. Watching the video at the end, make me realise again that time flies. Haha, Let's not waste time ok?

My 21st Bday!

It's my turn to celebrate finally... Haha, it's kind of last minute and luckily for me, i managed to plan everything out with the help from my family and friends... Okay, went to the chalet at Friday night and was surprised to see that the place was rather small. Haha, worried that there will not be enough space for the people and also the catering. Next morning, I went out to buy more food and also got the stools from my home. After that, it was waiting up the way as i waited for the caterer and then the guests. At around 7pm, still no one came yet, Haha, i was starting to get a little worry. But things became better when the first group consisting of Wei, Marsh, Aloy, Seng and Rouyu came.

Soon, more groups came and it was time to get busy...

Around 9 plus, my mum came back from work and it was time for cutting of cake. And another round of photo taking.

Random();

Busy this few days with training, IBG and studies. Saw Wee Keat, another Vball member, first time since we graduated from JC. He changed a lot, ear holes and golden hair but somethings never change, he is still very funny. Haha... Seems like December will be a hectic period with many activities occurring that time. Don't know which one i should go and which i shouldn't. Anyway, I'm hoping holidays will reach faster, i really need a rest from studies. Went to be photographer for softball IBG and i think the camera is really good. Take sharp photo. Haha...

Tired

With so much stuff to do, i really feel like doing nothing at all... Haha... I joined 1 Sub-Com, 2 sports and Orientation Camp and it is considered little already. With sports training every week, canvassing taking place, photo taking for the games and my studies piling up. I wonder how some people are able to participate in so many events and committees. High flyer i think... They are the ones whose place in the hall are confirmed next year... Haha, good luck to them anyway... Singing K weekly for the past 2 weeks... Quite interesting and i see more coming in the future... Need to practice my singing or it will be unbearable and of course, more dance moves to WOW those who come...Haha... Kidding lah, i don't know how to dance one...

Night Cycling

It was the first time i went for night cycling and it was organised by Yang's church. Quite fun overall and our group also managed to win $40 Mac voucher during games time at Pasir Ris Park. Haha. I think there will be more night cycling coming in the future.

Time Flies

It had been a month since i cut my hair. Thought it was only 2 weeks ago until Wei reminded me. Haha, shag cannot think properly already. Finally, no more test coming up, the next should be in October. Can rest for today. Cutting hair soon... Haha...

Busy

Went for my first academic test in 2 years plus. Studied quite hard for it and managed to complete the whole paper. At least i attempt all the questions. Work hard also need to play hard as well so, went to volleyball training after the test. Saw Jin playing volleyball with some girls. Haha, missed the day we trained together. Now, need to prepare for tomorrow Maths quiz. Study again... Realised i have not upload photos, maybe i will upload some of them next week. Haha...

Have a Bad Day

Rained for most of the day. Made it hard for me to go for lesson and most importantly, come back from class. If rain is light, it doesn't matter. However, in my case today, it was raining heavily. Getting from shelter to shelter, i run in the rain and finally, i reach the last un-sheltered road leading to my hall. With my hall just in front of me, i was glad and eager to get back as soon as possible. So, i ran when the road was clear of traffic. Now, i managed to run pass the road and my leg is reaching for the grass patch beside the kerb. As i stepped on the grass, i slipped and my both legs went into the puddles of water. What luck! Sian, so near to the end point already. Feeling damn sian after that and to overcome the sian-ness, i ate a bowl of hot noodles, a hot chocolate waffle and went for a hot bath. Oh... Feeling so much better now...

Hall Activities

Join 2 committee, OC and also volleyball. Maybe it's too much but i think many people who will join much more than me. To stay in hall, they must participate in hall activities. Sian. There are some people who join 3 games, compared to me with one game only but that's fine. Worried that the workload will be too much for me. Sian. Need to study more.

Update

4th week in Ntu and still coping with studies. Today will be the voting day for hall committee, start only at 8pm. Cannot go home today sian. Yesterday, went to Jurong Point for dinner as a celebration for Andrew's birthday. Glad to see us, ex-NSF coming together again. It have been some time since i last saw some of them. Haha. Waiting for the 1 week study break to come. I'm tired. Sian.

Itchy

Got a shock when i came back from home yesterday. My whole upper body was full of red patches and it was really itchy. Haha, until now the itch and some red patches are still around. Don't know what causes them but now i know my skin is sensitive. Sian. Finally cut my hair yesterday, much shorter fridge now so, no need to keep brushing my hair to the side while running. Haha.

Indecisive

Oh No!!! Cannot decide what ECA i want to join. According to my own plan, i was supposed to join Wsc but now, i am thinking about joining back Npcc. Yes, Ntu Npcc. The presentation showed many fun events that i hoped to participate. It does not help when my room mate and Jc friend is going to join the Eca as well. Thinking hard once again. Just opened my door and saw 2 plastic bag hanging on my door knob. The paper inside informed us about the rally and elections. Haha, other than the paper, there are also 4 sweets inside. Yes!!! Free sweets!!!

Spms

Recently, many people are running for committee and they are asking for votes at the lectures. Also don't know them well enough, how to vote correctly? Haha, i think i miss out on many free goodies like the Ntu jacket and Spms shirt but today, i did not miss out on the free Mac chicken and apple pies. YES!!! Oh no, my right eye feels weird, maybe because i never sleep enough recently. Too much tutorials and work to do. Sian.

Slack

Oh No... I am too slack!!! Many friends i know have started doing tutorials and even mugging. Haha, i have only done 1 tutorial till now and have not purchase the required textbook yet. Haha, think i am really too slack. ECA fair had just ended but i have not sign up for any clubs yet. Nothing really interests me in the fair or maybe i did not look carefully enough as i only scan through the booths. Okay!!! I aim to find an ECA and buy my textbook by this week. Haha, should have bought my books last week already. Sian.

A long wait for the Beijing Olympics and today is finally the day the games will officially start. Today is also the end of week 1 of my first semester. Rather slack for the first week but workload will surely pile up for the coming weeks. Never mind, enjoy and relax first. Off to lecture now...

Happening

My neighbours are so happening haha... Yesterday played Majong and now having steamboat at the corridor. Cool. Too bad i don't know them well. Haha. Still don't have the feeling to study yet. Never even prepare notes for the lectures sian.

Blogging...... Away From Home

It's the first time that i have blogged away from home. Sitting in my hostel room now, typing and listening to songs. Relax. Went for my first lecture today, cannot understand what was been taught but never mind. Now, most important is tomorrow where i must add subjects and check my QET results. Don't know what subjects to add, all seem hard and boring. I think i have an International Face, today, 2 people said I'm from Malaysia and this isn't the first time. There are also some who claim i look like people from other countries as well. Sian, I am Singaporean ok!!!

Hall 6 FOC

Today just came back from the Hall 6 Orientation Camp. The whole 7 days of program was packed and exciting, every night we only got to sleep for a few hours. Damn shag. Here's some games that i remember playing throughout the camp. For the first night, we played Combat Skirmish in the night and my OG, the Hades got 2nd haha... The second night was the fright night, sian, never shouted so much before in my life. Haha. The atmosphere was great as we went down drain and to 唐城. 唐城 was damn creepy and i didn't know of such place till that night. I forgot about the program of the third night. I only remember the last part where we were introduced to the Seniors of our block. We were supposed to sit closely together and shout " I Love Hall 6" or something. So, we begun to shout and down came the washing powder mixed with water and the Seniors shouted back "Hall 6 Loves U", if i'm not wrong Haha. The whole clothes was soapy already but we are lucky as the other blocks got soak in much dirtier water. To be continued......

1 More Week

Finally, starting school in 1 more week, tomorrow still need to go for hall orientation. Don't know why the orientation so long, need 1 whole week. So many games to play meh? Sian.

林宥嘉 and 刘力扬

Went for their campus concert at TP with Hong. Took a walk around the campus before getting the tickets for the concert. As the concert is free seating, many people started queueing up way before the concert starts. Since we are not a fan of them, Hong and me went for dinner first. Even if we did queue up, i believe we still could not get a good seat as the queue is already very very long.



The ticket wrote 6.30pm to be there but, at 7pm, i am still in the queue, waiting to enter the hall. Sian.



Finally got into the hall and tried to find a seat but, most of them were taken up and we had to sit on the stairs instead. Seating there isn't a bad idea as i have a clear view of the stage.

After a while, the host 巫许玛莉 came in and the show began with 刘力扬.

After about 3 songs, it's Yoga's turn to sing.

From the last photo, Yoga was explaining why he was holding onto the device. He's worried that it would drop off if he became too high. He said never mind if the audience is not high because he will still be very high. Haha. He walked and jumped around the place. Lastly, both sang a song together.

From the last photo again, Yoga was holding onto his ear, listening to scream of "encore" and after some talk with the host, he sang another song, concluding the campus concert. Haha...

Welcome 2 Taiwan

Just came back from Taiwan trip on the 15th. Interesting trip, saw some differences between Singapore and Taiwan people. Definitely will miss the services provided by the people there. Entering into any shop will most likely be greeted by "欢迎观临" and even if you did not make any purchase and walk out, they will still say "谢谢观临". Simple words but, with a great impact as it will make people feel very welcome. Communications in Taiwan is not a problem but, there are several words that are commonly used by us and not by them. The way we talk is also different, with frequent English words added into a sentence. That makes us easily recognised as tourists and the sales assistant always ask which country we are from. Haha.
